Kev

The first day at Monster School

And Kev is feeling scared,

To be prised away from loving arms

And hugs he's always shared.

Come in you furry load of fluff,

I'm your teacher Mrs Miggs

I'll be with you during your time at school

And teach you till you're big.

You'll all become great monsters

During your time at school,

You'll grow all hairy and really quite scary

And possibly ten feet tall.

This first year we'll be in Reception,

And you'll all learn to roar

Come on now Kev, keep up the practice

Don't moan that your throat is sore.

And now that you are all here in Year One

We need to pick up the pace,

I'll teach you how to creep up on people,

And pull a scary face.

Welcome back to school my monsters

And now you're in Year 2

I'll show you how to hide under beds

And scare people by shouting BOO!

Did you have a good summer dear Kev?

Right this way for year three

I'll teach you how to change your voice

And make it sound scary.

You're doing well, you're in Year 4

You're all becoming quite a sight.

This year we are hiding behind wardrobe doors

And creeping out during the night.

Hello my lovelies, we are in Year 5

This year's going to be tough

I'll teach you all the monster laws

and other boring stuff!

My goodness, I really can't quite believe that

Its already your final year

You've grown into such fine looking monsters

You even fill me with fear.

And now for your graduation monsters

And welcome Kev's mum and dad

You really can be proud of young Kev

He's one of the favourites I've ever had.

But after years of keeping quite

Kev finally made a tough choice

He tried to look all brave and calm

Though there was a slight quiver in his voice.

I've thought long and hard about your lessons

And everything you've said

But I'm not into scaring people

So here's what I propose instead

I want to fill the world with love

And lots of happy thoughts,

And wear pink flowers in my hair

And brightly coloured shorts

I'll dance and skip and swing and sway

And laugh so my belly jiggles

And be one of those that tickles toes

And runs away and giggles.
